Canada’s Best Triathletes Set to Toe the Line in Beijing for World Championships

—Elite races to be televised on CBC TV Sports Weekend, and live on CBC.ca—



BEIJING—Canada’s best triathletes have arrived in Beijing focused on completing a mission for medals in all race categories on the 2008 Olympic course, September 9-12, 2011.

Triathlon Canada has sent 19 athletes that will compete in the elite, under-23 and junior races. The governing body for triathlon in Canada will also register 111 athletes that will compete in the paratriathlon and age group races against the world’s best.

Coverage of the elite races can be viewed live on www.cbc.ca. The men’s race will also be broadcast on CBC TV Sports Weekend, September 10, from 2-3 p.m. EST, while the women’s race will be taped to hit the air on CBC TV Sport Weekend, September 17, from 12:30-1-30 p.m. EST as part of 2011 Sports Day in Canada.
